Privacy policy
Applyra exists to help you write better job applications. That means we handle your CV and career history, which is personal and sometimes sensitive. This page explains exactly what we do with it.
Version 1.0 — last updated 15 September 2026
Who is responsible for your data
Applyra is operated by C.S. Venture Lab, 4 rue du Pensionnat Notre-Dame de France, 43000 Le Puy-en-Velay, France. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us about anything on this page at support@applyra.eu.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, your name if you give it, and your password in encrypted form. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and name from Google.
- Your career profile — everything you enter or confirm: work history, education, skills, languages, projects, certifications, awards, volunteering, links, and contact details you want on a CV.
- Uploaded documents — CVs and scans you upload, and the text extracted from them.
- Job adverts you save — pasted text or a link you import, plus the analysis and match results produced from it.
- CVs, cover letters and applications — the versions you generate and the application records you keep.
- Payment records — subscription status, plan, period dates and credit history. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
- Usage of AI actions — which AI action ran, when, and how many credits it cost, so we can operate credits fairly and prevent abuse.
- Consent history — what you agreed to, which version, and when.
We do not ask for special-category data such as health, religion, political opinions or trade-union membership. If you choose to put such information in your CV, you are doing so on your own initiative and with your explicit consent for us to process it as part of your documents.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To build, improve and tailor your CVs and letters — based on your consent, which you give at sign-up and can withdraw at any time.
- To provide your account and paid plan — necessary to perform our contract with you, including billing and credit balances.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest in a safe, working service.
- To meet accounting and tax duties — a legal obligation for invoices and payment records.
We do not sell your data, we do not share your CV with recruiters or employers, and we do not use your career content to train public AI models.
How AI is used
AI helps you phrase what you already told us. It works only from facts in your profile or from documents you uploaded. It is instructed never to invent employers, job titles, dates, numbers or qualifications, and any suggestion is shown to you before anything is saved. You accept, edit or dismiss every suggestion yourself.
To produce a suggestion, the relevant part of your profile or the job advert is sent to an AI processing provider for that request only. Nothing about you is used to make an automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects, and there is no automated scoring of you as a candidate outside the match report you asked for.
Who processes your data for us
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Applyra: hosting and application infrastructure, database and file storage, payment processing, email delivery, and AI text processing. They act on our instructions under written data processing terms, may only use your data to provide their service to us, and are bound to confidentiality.
Your data is stored and processed in the European Union wherever possible. If a provider processes data outside the EU, that transfer relies on an adequacy decision or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Career profile, CVs, letters and applications — for as long as your account is open, because they are the working content of the product.
- Original uploaded files — deleted automatically according to your retention setting in Settings. The extracted, reviewed information stays in your profile.
- Inactive accounts — if you do not sign in for 24 months, we contact you and then delete the account and its content.
- Payment and invoice records — kept for 10 years as required by French accounting law, separately from your CV content.
- Consent history — kept while your account exists, as proof of the choices you made.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can, at any time:
- See what we hold about you, and get a copy in a machine-readable file.
- Correct anything inaccurate — your profile is editable directly in the app.
- Delete your account and all its content.
- Withdraw your consent to AI processing of your career data.
- Object to or ask us to restrict a particular use of your data.
- Complain to the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés) — cnil.fr.
Export and deletion are self-service: open Settings and use the privacy section. For anything else, write to support@applyra.eu and we will answer within one month.
Security
Your documents live in private storage that no other user can reach. Access to your rows in our database is enforced at the database level for your account only. Passwords are stored hashed, connections are encrypted, and staff access to production data is limited to what is needed for support and is logged.
Children
Applyra is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Cookies
See the cookie notice for what is stored on your device and how to change your choices.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app and ask again for consent where it is required. The version and date at the top of this page always tell you which text applies.
